New Acquisition: An Entire Frontier Town
Extensive, detailed, and highly dramatic, the miniature Wild West settlement arrived. We renovated the town to heighten historical realism and educational value, and, to our delight, it emerged more captivating and intriguing than in its Hollywood permutation! As Kenneth Davis, author of the Don’t Know Much About …series of American history books, says:
“Cowboys and Indians… Quick-draw gunslingers with blazing six-shooters… Stagecoaches rolling across the wide-open plains. For a long time, that is how most people thought about the great American West… But that American West Show only happened in the movies. The truth is a much more interesting story…”

Another Lawbre!
Lawbre has been called the Rolls Royce of contemporary dollhouses, and the museum was lucky to acquire this Old Westbury Hall, one of a limited edition of 25 crafted by Lawbre in the 1980's. At almost six feet long, its generous rooms and tudor flavor make it the perfect home place for our larger sized Victorian German furniture and handhooked European rugs.
The Great American Dollhouse Museum boasts five Lawbres: The Old Westbury Hall, The Chessington Plaza, The Chateau, Glen Cove Villa and The French Country House. |
