A Study in Social History
Activity abounds in the miniature village. Visitors will be intrigued by the social interaction and historical detail in its hundreds of buildings, and by the vivid characters that fill its streets, back yards, and parks. As enchanting as it is educational, the extensive town provides both an unforgettable day trip and a dynamic lesson in American social history.
Outside the town dwells a make-believe world, The Fantasy Forest. Past farms and cabins the setting darkens. Strange sounds emerge as you approach, for all manner of faeries, gnomes and witches haunt these woods. This part is just for fun, and fun it is! |

Our New Home: Breaking Ground
In June of 2006 we purchased a 6000 square foot historical building in Danville, Kentucky. Constructed in 1939 by the Works Progress Administration, its high, arched, hardwood ceilings, enormous skylights, and iron girders impart to the interior an atmosphere of seasoned endurance perfect for our museum.
The two-acre grounds will be landscaped with paths winding around trees, shrubs, and flower gardens. Thrilled to find a property that so exceeded our hopes, we’re working hard towards a Grand Opening in 2008… hope to see you then!
OPENING IN THE SUMMER OF 2008! |
